COLLEGE LEAP CHAPTER

WHAT IS LEAP CHAPTER

College Leap Chapters are student clubs at community colleges to provide transfer-related resources and information to students on the campus level. All College Leap chapters should be considered as
"Premium Transfer Clubs" on campus

Here are four main components of a College Leap chapter:

3–10 student leaders to manage and operate a chapter;
Committees are set up under the chapter leaders

One full-time faculty member or staff to serve as advisor

Programs and events organized by chapter leaders and are open & free to all students on campus

How to bring a College Leap chapter to your college

Start a New Chapter
OR
Affiliate an existing chapter
  1. Step 1: Find two other chapter leaders and an advisor;
  2. Step 2: Preparing your bylaws/constitution;
  3. Step 3: Fill out the Chapter Application Form;
  4. Step 4: Chapter activation/reaction;
  5. Step 5: Welcome to the College Leap family

CHAPTER TIMETABLE

What are the main tasks for a chapter during a semester

Pre-/start of a semester

  • Chapter activation: Each semester/quarter, your club needs to be activated/reactivated
  • Kick-off meeting: your chapter will meet with College Leap national office to discuss your semester plan

During Semester

  • Monthly chapter progress report
  • Monthly Chapter Representatives’ Council Meeting: one representative from your chapter will attend the meeting with leaders from other chapters;

End of a Semester

  • Wrap-up meeting: your chapter will meet with College Leap national office to wrap up your semester.
  • Certificates for leaders who stay with the chapter for at least a year
